The first two musiciam releases "mbiriam" and "music" are finally available again online:
The first album "mbiriam" features hypnotic songs played on a thumb piano (mbira) made and then ceremoniously burned upon completion of the album. With this being the first real contact with recording in a home-studio, a direct, raw and spontaneous enthusiasm permeates these pieces. (More information about the recording processes involved in this album can be found in the background section.)

The next album "music" was a progression towards a wider range of sound sources where pretty much anything that came to hand could be incorporated: squeeky chairs, floorboards, xylophones, cardboard tubes, tin cans, kazoos, flexidiscs... as well as other other musicians. Taken from the album "lingua", an exploration of latin influences, "this feeling" was a song that was developed into a video... "pop scars". This spoof of "pop idol" style tv programmes is a playful experiment with visual media. Collaborating with Amoeba, this unfinished project was both a blatant piece of auto derision and a subtle dig at iam's borderline megalomania.
