Having spent ten years living
with his French wife and two of those years living in Montpellier, France
, Ian speaks French with no discernable accent. They live together with
their 2 daughters, use French as the "family" language and are
currently establishing Brighton's first French childcare setting Little
England Petite France. Ian's background is in music and education. For a long time he lead the singing for Brighton's largest parent and toddler group Nippers and was employed at Hamilton Lodge School for the Deaf. Ian has also worked as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language at Cambridge University. Trained in the piano and saxophone but happy to play anything that comes to hand, he previously helped to establish Red Zebra, a group that facilitate percussion workshops. His experience of live performance, coupled with his confidence and infectious laughter make him a consumate group leader. "Ian's big, sunny personailty means that children can't fail to have fun at these groups." Jo Johnson (mother of two) "We really look forward to Ian's sessions, they are the highpoint of our week." Alex Brown (mother of four) "Ian always creates a fun, controlled and comfortable atmosphere..." Tim (father of one) "Many many thanks for all the wonderful singing... you are such an asset to us all..." Joan Rayment, Director of Nippers, Brighton's biggest babygroup. |
