A fun way for you and your children to learn French together.
A parent/toddler group suitable for any nationality.
Songs and games galore, lots of laughter guaranteed.

Sessions are a great way to have fun and encourage your child's aptitude for languages and learning in general. We begin with the introduction of some vocabulary which is then developed through games. There is a strong musical flavour to Salut Les Petits! and there will be opportunities for everyone to both make music and to dance to it. Sessions feature a mix of French songs and nursery rhymes found here. The accompanying Salut Les Petits booklet has transcripts and translations for all the songs in our repertoire and a CD will soon be available.

Over the years we saw the "graduation" of some children who left the group to start their long careers in full-time education. Children attended "Salut Les Petits" for up to two years and included children from both French and English families. To review their development at the end of the year we played a game of "Jacques a dit" or "Simon says"... and without exception nor any cues in English, all of them were able to:

sing at least 5 songs in French

count up to twenty
(practised on a trampoline)
identify body parts
(eyes, ears, head, hands, teeth, hair, feet and more)
demonstrate a range of sports
(football, tennis, swimming and more)
demonstrate a range of daily routines
(wash your face, brush you teeth etc)
stand in front of the group and perform a song (takes courage!)
imitate a number of animals (cows, sheep, pigs etc)

and loads more!

Due to other commitments, we regret to inform you that Salut Les Petits is no longer running.

The groups may well be reinstated one day but we have no immediate plans for when that might be.

A sincere thank you to everyone who has participated over the years!
